Camping Gift Guide

CampingShopping for people can be challenging at times. You can wrack your brain thinking about a person’s hobbies, interests, and wants, but that won’t always give you a good list of gifts. A gift guide, however, can take a little legwork out of holiday shopping. That’s why we’ve put together a little guide to help you come up with some gift ideas for people who like to go camping.

Camping gear can get pricey, and people can be pretty particular about their camping equipment. While tents, sleeping bags, and fancy jackets can all make great gifts, they tend to be more expensive and require more coordination with the gift recipient. There are still plenty of gifts for campers that can truly be a surprise for the holidays.

Warmth can be hard to come by outdoors. A good technical base layer makes a great and practical gift for someone who likes camping or enjoys being outside.

You can’t go wrong with a water reservoir. Camping can require a lot of water – it’s used for drinking, cleaning, cooking, washing dishes, putting out the fire, etc. – and you can never have too much.

Whether you opt for a burly survival knife or a more traditional folding knife, a good camp knife will put a smile on any camper’s face.

If you’re shopping for a serious camper, there’s a good chance that they already have a headlamp. However, if they don’t already have one, they will love you forever. Plus, it’s always good to have a backup headlamp. A lantern makes for a great gift and will light up any campsite.

People always tend to have less camp furniture than they need. A camp chair, a camp table, or a love seat are guaranteed to make base camp more comfortable.

Get your java fiend a French press or percolator, so they can act civil in the morning. If you’re shopping for a cold weather camper, avoid glass French presses. Boiling water poured into a cold glass French press will inevitably leave it cracked.

A camp blanket will provide extra warmth while sleeping, or add some coziness around a campfire. It can even be used as a tent floor or ground cover.

Hats and gloves are great for camping, but they can also be used everyday.

If having fun is a main priority, a portable speaker makes the perfect gift.

Nothing says I appreciate your passion for lounging and being comfortable like a hammock.

An insulated Hydro Flask Growler is great for keeping your beverages hot or cold, whichever the case may be. Fill it with hot cider in the winter and cold beer in the summer.

A sleeping bag liner is another incredible practical gift. Liners can add warmth in the winter, be used on their own in the summer, and will increase the longevity of your sleeping bag.

We carry all of these things and more here at Uncle Sam’s Safari Outfitters. If you’re in or around Northwest Arkansas, stop by and see us for more camping gift ideas!
