7 Reasons to Get Outside This Fall

Ozarks in the fallThere’s a lot to get excited about during the fall. You’ve got football season, pumpkin spice creeping its way into anything edible, and, of course, you have great conditions to get outdoors! The thing about getting outside during the fall is that you only have a brief window of perfect conditions before winter takes over, and that window is almost always shorter than you realize. Don’t make the mistake of missing outdoor fun this fall!

Fall may very well be the best time of the year to get outside (although there are arguments to be made for the other seasons too). To help get you motivated to get outdoors, here are 7 reasons to get outside this fall!

Fall brings ideal temperatures. It’s hard to get motivated to go outside when temperatures are extreme. However, fall weather is consistently pleasant, making your outdoor plans that much more appealing.

The fall leaves are beautiful. Fall in the Ozarks is one of the most breathtaking things that you can experience. Sure, watching the leaves change color here in Fayetteville, Arkansas is nice, but getting out in nature and immersing yourself in the color is truly incredible.

The bugs are gone. Ticks, chiggers, and mosquitoes are enough to keep anyone indoors. The further into fall we get, the less you will have to deal with annoying insects.

You can see the trails again…until the leaves fall. Trails can get overgrown during the summer months. As the low-growing plants die back during the fall, the trails are easier to spot. That is, until the leaves fall and cover them up for a couple of weeks.

Summer is the most popular time of the year to camping, but fall is the best time to go camping. The temperatures are great, the bugs are gone, and the poison ivy has died down, but that’s not what makes camping in the fall so great. There’s just something in the air.

Fall is the best time to go hiking. The best time to go hiking is when the leaves start changing. Great temperatures and lovely scenery make for a great hiking trip.

Fall gives you the perfect excuse to put all of your outdoor gear to use. If you’re going to spend the money on a tent, a hiking backpack, or a good pair of hiking boots, you want to make sure that you get the most out of your gear.
