Outdoor lovers rejoice! Spring is finally here, as of the official date on the calendar yesterday. That means it’s time for spring events in Northwest Arkansas and there are a few coming up that are worth noting.

Iron Pig Festival, March 22 (tomorrow!)

Have you ever wanted to run on a runway? Now is your chance! The Iron Pig Festival is a 5k run, 1-mile run, Bike Time Trials, and Duathon all wrapped into one weekend at the Drake Field Airport in Fayetteville. Participants get to pig out afterwards on breakfast sausage and pancakes and enjoy a day of competition together. Today is the last day to register for the event so don’t delay if you want in! Spectators are welcome too.

The Hogeye March 29-30

A marathon, half-marathon, and relays on a recently updated route, the Hogeye now goes through more runner-friendly areas and more scenic parts of Fayetteville. There’s also a health and fitness expo this year at the remodeled Chancellor Hotel to add to the race fun.

Joe Martin Stage Race, April 24 -27

Where else can you see professional bike riders on a mission to dominate (and maybe even make it to the Summer Olympics)? Only in Fayetteville! If you’re not a biker, it’s still a fun event where you can enjoy watching the bikers weave around corners in downtown Fayetteville on Dickson. The best spot to watch them is on the corner of Dickson and West where they turn to go up the hill!

We hope you get out there and enjoy what Fayetteville has to offer this spring and make new friends. If you need gear, be sure to come visit us.
