Try Something New Outdoors

rock-climbing-is-fun-by-mariachilyWe hope you had great holidays with friends and family! This week has been about celebration for a lot of us, but on Monday, it’s back to the grindstone and reality. Before you head back to work full-steam ahead on Monday, take some time and enjoy the outdoors. After being cooped up inside through the holidays it’s a good idea to get some fresh air. It’s also a great opportunity to use those new outdoor toys you got for Christmas!

If you didn’t get what you wanted, we have plenty of new items in stock and maybe that one thing you really wanted for Christmas that you didn’t get this year. With the New Year, it’s a great time to try something new and pick up some new gear to give it a try.

If you love hiking, give rock climbing a try. Hikers love getting out in the back woods and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. They love scenery and pausing along the trail to take in the details, both big and small. Climbing allows you to get to places you wouldn’t otherwise be able to access, to really get above and away from the noise, and to see the world from a new vantage point. If you’re a hiking fanatic, give climbing a try for a thrill!

If you’re a climber and live for a challenge, setting your sights on something difficult that will improve your climbs is what you’re after. Kayaking is a great sport that demands lots of upper body strength and dexterity. Kayaking can help build up your back and arm muscles and gives you a great workout.

If you’re a camper, try geocaching. Geocaching asks you to use a GPS to find hidden caches in your surroundings based on clues. It’s a fun activity to do while you’re enjoying a campground and helps you get to know your favorite campsites better.

Trying something new in the New Year can make the outdoors exciting again, especially in the colder months when the weather isn’t always in our favor.
