Merry Christmas from Uncle Sam’s

bridge-at-the-spillway-by- timpeartriceFrom all of us at Uncle Sam’s Safari Outfitters, Merry Christmas! We hope you are enjoying your holiday with your family around the tree. We love to go for a hike on Christmas afternoon after spending the day eating and opening presents. There’s not much like getting out in the wilds with your family and enjoy the holiday together. If you’re looking for somewhere in the area for a quick walk for your family, which might include people with different levels of abilities, check out this list of places in Fayetteville.

Lake Fayetteville Nature Trail: This soft surface trail is 6.9 miles long so families without much hiking experience and those with significant experience can both enjoy this hike. Walk as far as you’d like and turn around and head back or do the whole loop for a long walk in the woods together.

Lake Fayetteville Paved Trail: For families with limited mobility needs, this trail is paved and comes in at 5.5 miles long. Perfect for the active family that needs sure-footing.

Wilson Park: A .9 paved trail around Wilson Park, this is perfect for families with wide age ranges. Older family members can enjoy the park benches and the fresh air while children can play on the playground equipment. Older children and parents can go the whole loop and meet up with others who stayed behind.

Mount Sequoyah Woods: For the hiking family, this trail is a quick jaunt in the woods, up and down the mountain. Only 1.25 miles long, and there is a bench about halfway through where you and your family can sit and take it all in on Christmas day.

Merry Christmas!
