Climber Holiday Gift Guide

Holiday gift guide for climbers photo byelevenexperienceClimbers use a lot of specialized gear, from ropes to harnesses to shoes. On the rock you want quality climbing gear that will last—especially considering that many climbers really put gear through its paces. If you’re shopping for a climber, we’ve got some great ideas.

Climbing shoes

Shoes are the thing that climbers most covet—the Team 5Ten blacks, for instance, might be the shoe of their dreams. Climbing shoes are best tried on in the store to make sure they’re a perfect fit since any kind of hot spots in the shoe will create painful blisters in an instant out on a crag. We have gift certificates in any amount for those who want to give climbers shoes but aren’t sure what to buy.

Chalk and Chalk Bags

Climbers always need more chalk and bags are a great gift. Chalk bags are how climbers show their personality in their gear and what they stand for. Organic chalk bags, for instance, are perfect for climbers who love to support American handmade products. There are plenty of different types of chalk and climbers usually have a preference but you can always get a variety of types, especially for new climbers who might not have tried different kinds out.

Is your climber using a grubby old toothbrush to clean off holds? Why not give him or her a welcome upgrade with the top of the line brush from Lapis? Climbers love Lapis brushes because they really do a good job of getting chalk and gunk off of holds. And they make great stocking stuffers!

Bouldering climbers

Climbers who do bouldering need protection with a crash pad. They’re a thick foam pad that’s made to take impacts of falling climbers to prevent injury. They need to be replaced every so often so they make a great holiday season gift!

Rope climbers

Just like bouldering, rope climbing requires safety equipment that’s well maintained. Climbing ropes need to be replaced every so often too. If you’re unsure what kind of rope to get, we can help you select the right one for your climber. There are lots of different types of rope — check out the rope lingo or come in and let us… ahem… show you the ropes!

Maps and guides

Climbers are always looking for the next place to work on a problem. We have great guides for Arkansas as well as Delorme maps with special features for those who love the outdoors.

This list is certainly not exhaustive of all the things you can buy for your climber this holiday season! We have plenty more items in stock at our store in Evelyn Hills in Fayetteville for the perfect gift. Come visit us and check that climber off your list!
