Mint and Coral: Colors for Summer 2013

mint-and-coral-gear-lululemonThis post is definitely for the fashion conscious among us gear lovers.  Ladies, it’s all about mint and coral this summer so if you want to stay on the cusp of fashion, be sure to grab a new piece or two that’s in these beautiful hues for this summer. They can be tricky colors to wear but if you want to stand out while hiking, running, biking, climbing, or doing whatever it is you do, these trends are prefect.

Both of these colors do well as solid colors with minimalist graphic designs or incorporated into graphics. Try out a mint colored top and some darker bottoms for yoga or running or coral accents on clothing to brighten up your look. You can also pair these colors with complementing hues, like pinks, purples and blues. Oranges and reds will probably be too overpowering so you’ll want to avoid them with mint and coral colored outdoor clothing.

Mint is a calming color and is best suited for calming activities where you’re not pushing yourself really hard, like a relaxing session of yoga or a wandering hike to a waterfall. It’s also a great color for when you want to relax by the campfire with friends while still looking stylish. Coral is a more powerful color, since it’s a mixture of pink and orange, and is better suited to activities where you’re using a lot of energy. A great choice for workout clothes, coral can give you a boost of energy and confidence. We also recommend coral for rock climbing gear–when you glance down to gather strength with your legs, you’ll get a nice boost to keep on going!

We’ve got a selection of women’s gear in these colors and colors that pair well with mint and coral in stock (and some on sale too) so be sure to stop by. Just because we’re out in the woods doesn’t mean we can’t look good while doing it, right?
