Spring Break in Utah!

Camping-in-utah-by-rob-leeOne of our staff members, Gideon, is headed off for a Spring Break adventure to Utah, where he’ll be going rock climbing and visiting national parks. Because we’re a jealous sort when we hear about people going on great trips (seriously, what a lucky guy), we’ve been dreaming up what we’d take along if we were headed out with him.

So far, the weather’s looking great for most of Utah with only a 50% chance of rain for Wednesday, temperatures in the 60-70’s this weekend and dropping down to the 40’s for the end of the week for most of the state. Basically, it’s perfect camping weather.

We’d take along our tried and true Kelty Trail Dome 4 person tent so we have plenty of room for gear, as well as as a Marmot Rockaway 20 sleeping bag. The Rockaway has added room for shoulders so you can toss throughout the night, which is what we’d be doing while we were impatient to get back out on the trail!

For food, we’d bring our trusty old camp stove and a Jetboil, so we could make elaborate breakfasts in the morning and quick eats with the Jetboil while we’re out and about. We’d also bring along coffee and other goodies, of course, because what’s a camping trip without some coffee while gazing at beautiful scenery?

We’d pack in a few more accessories, as well as all of our necessary gear for climbing and put it all in a pack built just to carry it all—maybe in a Deuter pack (they’ve been to Spain!).

We’d love to know your Spring Break plans so leave us a comment, connect on Facebook, or let us know on twitter what you’ll be up to this next week. Don’t forget to send us pictures! When Gideon get’s back, we’ll rehash his trip and let you know what’s awesome in Utah.
