Safari Packing List
As Northwest Arkansas’s premier Safari Outfitters, we are always ready and willing to help you pack for a safari. Your particular safari might be a hunting trip to Kenya, a photo safari in Botswana, or a trip to the Tulsa Zoo — no matter what, we’re with you.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- binoculars
- camera
- extra batteries or chargers for your camera
- small, powerful flashlight
- hat with a brim
- cotton clothing from the skin out — not only will it be comfortable and washable, but a hot iron can kill any parasites that may try to hitch a ride with you
- comfortable boots
- neck gaiter or scarf, and ankle gaiters to keep out insects
- compass or GPS
- pocket knife or multi-use tool (you may not be able to take this on an airplane, so you might choose to ship it ahead if you’re flying)
- water purification tablets or filter
- insect repellant
- lip balm, hand salve
- toiletries
- first aid kit
- energy bars or similar snacks
The list is really not that different from a packing list for a wilderness camping trip. Check with your medical professional before you leave to see whether you’ll need any shots or medications (probably not for the Tulsa Zoo).
